Liability Policy

I hereby acknowledge that, by organizing my own cleanup activity as part of Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup project, I am assuming responsibility for the organization of my event, recruiting others to assist me, and providing them with clear safety and clean up instructions from the Guide to Marine Debris. I will provide everyone with appropriate clean up equipment or ensure that they provide their own appropriate equipment. All debris collected will be disposed of in a responsible and safe manner.

I further acknowledge on behalf of myself and my minor child, if any, that participating in Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup involves potential risk of injury, including slipping and falling into a body of water, cutting yourself with sharp objects of litter, exposure to natural elements such as heat, foliage and wildlife. I/we agree to wear rubber/garden gloves and to adhere to safety and cleanup instructions contained in the Guide to Marine Debris. I/we also agree that I/we will participate in this event solely on land and not via a water vessel such as a boat, canoe or kayak.

On behalf of myself and my minor child, if any, I do hereby release and forever discharge Ocean Conservancy and its officers, trustees, employees, agents, servants and representatives from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, judgments, expenses, injuries to person(s) or damage to property sustained or incurred in connection with, or as a result of my organization and participation in, the aforementioned event. I agree to hold the Ocean Conservancy wholly harmless for any and all liability, loss, expense, or damage it may incur by virtue of my participation in the aforementioned event.
