Booz Allen Hamilton's employees are passionate about making a difference in communities across the nation. At Booz Allen our approach to corporate philanthropy is simple—directing our resources to the organizations and causes our employees care about. This employee-centered approach to giving back is a distinguishing feature of Booz Allen's community leadership.

For the 2009 International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), Booz Allen is partnering with Ocean Conservancy as a Living Waters Sponsor and providing employees with volunteer opportunities at waterway cleanup events being held at rivers, lakes, streams, and beaches throughout the nation on September 19, 2009.

The International Coastal Cleanup is the world's largest volunteer effort of its kind for the ocean.

Washington, DC, employees: The primary cleanup site is Barcroft Park on Four Mile Run on Saturday, September 19 from 9 AM to NOON. Register to join us there, or you are welcome to choose another site location in the area.

Why Should I Volunteer?

This event is ideal for employees looking for an opportunity to make a difference in their communities and to the environment by working alongside colleagues, family members, friends, and clients to pick up and document marine debris. Last year alone, volunteers from 100 countries and 42 states picked up nearly 7 million pounds of debris from waterways and beaches in a single day. You, too, can make a difference. Get Involved. Create Impact.

How to Participate

This year's ICC will take place on Saturday September 19, 2009. Ocean Conservancy has offered Booz Allen employees a unique opportunity to organize volunteer groups to participate in their annual cleanup. To participate in International Coastal Cleanups in your community, register here. Events are open to all Booz Allen employees, families and friends willing to spend a few hours improving our nation's marine environments. If participating as a group please make sure to indicate how may people are in your group when registering. An ICC volunteer coordinator will contact you with information about International Coastal Cleanups taking place in your community. Coordinators can also help you plan an ICC event in your community.

Shortly after you register to participate in the International Coastal Cleanup, you will receive an email from Booz Allen Community Relations with a link to where you can order your Booz Allen volunteer t-shirts in time for the event. If you need additional information about Booz Allen's participation in the ICC, contact Christine Hoisington at 703-377-5569 or by email at hoisington_christine@bah.com.
