Accountant/Budget Analyst

Washington, DC

Position Title: Financial Analyst
Department: Finance
Reports To: Asistant Director of Finance
Duration: Full-Time
Location: Washington, DC

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Financial Analyst position is responsible for all aspects of internal and external project reporting and tracking. This position is the primary financial liaison with program staff, and will assist program and Development staff with their financial needs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review non administrative monthly internal financial statements
  • Research and respond to program staff inquires regarding internal financial statements
  • Prepare all journal entries for reclassifications of revenue and expenses related to program financial statements
  • Assist Development and Program staff in preparing grant proposal budgets
  • Assist Development and Program staff with grant reporting
  • Track progress on programs with restricted funds
  • Assist in planning, preparation and review of annual organization budgets
  • Assist Development and Program staff with budget re-projections
  • Assist in any ad hoc reporting as assigned
  • Prepare annual audit schedules to properly recognize revenue and release net assets from restriction
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Require 2 or more years of recent relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (a Bachelor's in Finance or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting can substitute for the BS in Accounting). Knowledge of Federal compliance requirements, Great Plains and FRx experience a strong plus. Candidate must have a strong attention to detail, solid written and oral communication skills, and be deadline oriented.
