January 2009

Dear Friend:

It's a brand new year, and a brand new era for our country. And, I think we even have an opportunity to begin a brand new way of relating to our food.

First Fish Campaign BadgeSo, here at Ocean Conservancy, we're bringing you First Fish, our campaign to promote healthy eating and healthy oceans, starting with the new First Family.

Between today and January 20th, we are accepting votes on five different recipes that we will provide to the Obamas and the White House chef along with our hope that they will set an example for America.

So many delicious fish, like several included in these scrumptious recipes, are not yet sustainable but are on the road to recovery -- or need to be.  Become part of the solution by asking the White House to help! We'll send the winning recipe -- along with a recipe for investing in the future so that all of America’s fish are sustainable.

Vote for your favorite fish recipe today!
